This is great! Have you ever read E.E. "Doc" Smith? This totally reminds me of his Klono & Quadgap, in a good way.
I've read a couple of reprints of some of Smith's pulp stuff, but haven't gotten to the Lensman series yet. It's in the queue.
And that's correct on the deadly sins. I wasn't sure I had made envy clear enough in the way he's trying to copy Pride, but I figured the process of elimination would take care of any stragglers.
