Fog Island (1945) Falsely imprisoned George Zucco assembles his accusers so he can Ten Little Indians them. Mostly a gab-fest, but it does deliver the fog. TIL: The Epistle of James warns us not to waste time because our lives are like mist or fog, here for a moment, then gone.

The Devil’s Daughter (1939) Jamaican plantation heiress deals with jealousy and voodoo. Tame and talky, but historically interesting for the all-black cast. TIL: Jesus calls some children of Satan, not physically, but spiritually because of the self-centered life they follow.

Dad Rock Diary: Orang-Utan - Orang-Utan (1971) If the dueling fuzzy double-leads don't do it for you, then you can always just stare at the amazing cover as you rock out. Laudable Lyrics: Back with the living, thank God for that! I try to recover the things that I lack.

City on Fire (1979) Disgruntled worker sets city ablaze. The cast is right but, alas, it's bottom of the barrel as far as disaster flicks go. TIL: God allowed the ancient Israelites to burn down certain cities because He had already condemned the irredeemable Amorite culture.

The Long Hair of Death (1964) Another witch, another curse, another day for Barbara Steele. Still, it has a nice Gothic soap opera vibe, ala Dark Shadows. TIL: For St. Paul, waist length hair on men was considered effeminate and contrary to what natural law would suggest.

The Zoo Gang (1985) Wrestling wino helps kids defend a dance club from bullies. Oddly watchable even with that 80's mix of mullets and decidedly non-PC dialog. TIL: Jacob's wrestling match in Genesis showed sometimes God's blessing only comes after a long struggle in the dark.

You’ll Find Out (1940) Kay Kyser’s big band plays an old dark house. Genial musical mystery, but nothing note-worthy (sorry) except the presence of Lugosi, Karloff, and Lorre. TIL: JPII said the Church needs musicians as song can bring joy, love, and confident expectation in God.

Tarantula (1955) Scientist makes things bigger including, for some undiscernible reason, a venomous hairy spider. Absolute classic of the bug bug genre. TIL: Scripture warns that depending on anything but God is like hoping a spider web will hold you up if you trip and fall.

Shin Ultraman (2022) Loving tribute/satire of the 1966 TV show is 2,900 tons of fun, though it suffers just a tad by trying to cram the entire series into one movie. TIL: Hmm, a god-tier being of light who becomes human to save all mankind sure sounds a bit familiar, doesn't it?

Dad Rock Diary: The Art Of Lovin’ - The Art Of Lovin’  (1968) For sure flying Jefferson Airplane, especially those tracks that don't skimp on the psychedelia. Laudable Lyrics: You know there'll be a moon and a sky. No sense in waiting in sorrow,  things will be right if you try.

Lifepod (1981) Rogue A.I. terrorizes the first interplanetary cruise ship. Decent idea; sadly, the sets AND the actors are made of cardboard. TIL: Stella Maris, aka the Apostleship of the Sea, places priests on ships to provide spiritual, psychological and material assistance.

House of the Black Death (1965) Warlocks John Carradine and Lon Chaney Jr. talk smack while entranced women belly dance. How did Ed Wood not write this? TIL: Pre-Reformation, the Church mostly dismissed witchcraft as superstition, with some local councils outlawing belief in it.

Mission Stardust (1967) Pulp hero Perry Rhodan aids a dying alien race. A 1950's script trying hard to be late 60's groovy, but alas, Barbarella this ain't. TIL: Carl Sagan liked to remind viewers they were made of stardust, much as the book of Genesis did first around 1450 B.C.

The Loreley’s Grasp (1973) Rheingold hoarding were-lizard terrorizes a boarding school. Blind Dead director de Ossorio does Hammer Horror his own weird way. TIL: Gold is mentioned over 400 times in the Bible, often as a reminder that it's less valuable than wisdom or God's word.
