When AIP went into television production they hired Larry Buchanan (who probably deserves a film festival here) to remake a number of their 1950s drive-in movies for even less money than the originals. How MST3K didn't end up with more of them is a mystery to me.

And, yes, the original It Conquered The World is a perennial favorite around these parts. I especially love how you can see the wheels sticking out when they're pushing the monster towards the camera.EegahInchttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13055947542189758831noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34344059.post-51163867412692621192010-09-07T16:45:58.357-04:002010-09-07T16:45:58.357-04:00I have not seen this one. The '56 version was a staple of the Saturday afternoon creature features TV.

Even as a boy I knew not to trust that mysterious voice on the radio promising me happiness if I only gave my will to it. Of course, when that voice turned out to be a giant rubber inverted ice cream cone (single scoop with fangs), I knew my initial suspicions were right! :)newguy40https://www.blogger.com/profile/07691117339629857830noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34344059.post-35420521575629383462010-09-07T14:32:21.839-04:002010-09-07T14:32:21.839-04:00"Who else could find redeeming qualities to d..."Who else could find redeeming qualities to discuss in Zontar: Thing from Venus?"

Probably nobody who would admit to it :)EegahInchttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13055947542189758831noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34344059.post-56800703358451257722010-09-07T09:35:58.570-04:002010-09-07T09:35:58.570-04:00Great as usual! Not being a fan of horror movies (I prefer rubber suits) I appreciated the discussion of “How can you promote movies like this and then be upset about…?” Very thought-provoking.Rocket Scientistnoreply@blogger.com
