COMING ATTRACTIONS: SATISFACTION

The nice folks over at Spirit of Vatican 2 "Catholic" Faith Community suggested in the strongest, yet strangely loving and non-violent, way possible that I review the movies of a certain famous actress. Sadly, as the lady's movies don't really fit into the B-Movie category, so it seemed unlikely I would be able to fulfill their request. Until I remembered this little gem from 1988. This one's for you Che'. You can view the trailer here, with the usual obligatory advertisement of course. (And then you can take a good look at the poster, count legs, and see if you can figure it all out. I know I can't.)

ah yes. The magic that is Satisfaction.

cinematic gem.

So...you're saying you were 'persuaded" by a fan of the one of this movies' stars?

Who knew the Justine Bateman fans wielded that much power?

I also cannot part without commenting on the disproportionate Doberman in the poster.

who was the Art Director, Helen Keller?

This poster always made me laugh.

Once I thought of this movie, I dug through some old boxes and, sure, enough, I've still got this poster stored away. It was just too weird to let it rot in a filing cabinet at the theater. (Better it should rot here where it's appreciated.)

Sadly for Ms. Bateman, Che' over at SOV2 has a thing for the movies of one of the costars of Satisfaction and not Justine herself. And it ain't the dog, so don't ask. If you're familiar with some of the more... er... um... progressive ideas going on in the Church today, then you might enjoy checking out SOV2's site.

Eegah, I just found your blog, and it's fantastic: drawing solid doctrine out of pop culture. I'm adding you to my blogroll.

Many thanks, arkanbar. I've been out of touch for a few days setting up a new laptop, but I'm up and running again and I'll be sure to check out your blog soon.

eegahinc!

THANKS SO MUCH! That's awesome. I thought I saw all the Julia Roberts movies but I somehow missed that one. I bet its a lot like Mystic Pizza... am I right?

I'm going to see if I can find it someplace and watch it ten times in a row! Your really church to me. (Sorry Father Tim banned you because that's just stupid).

Anyway you've got to rate Blood of Heroes. That's my all time favorite 3AM Rutger Hauer movie and I think its got a real theme too. Its kind of like Road Warrior meets the Bad News Bears or something.
