The last bad movie I watched was "Transformers" - well, actually, I ripped it out of the DVD player about 45 minutes it. Terrible! Not quite a "B" movie, unless you consider "B" to stand for "Baaaaaaaaaaaaaddddddd"!
EegahInc, I don't know if you like to give away trade secrets, but how do you get those screen shots and add the talking balloons?
Also, just a mere suggestion, mind you, I'm wondering if you'd mind adding the names of the movies to the Outtakes posts to help further our B-movie educations.
larryd, unfortunately (or fortunately now that I think about it) Transformers is a little over budget for this place. I believe the most expensive movie I've reviewed has been Dracula 2000.
deej, no trade secrets here. I use VirtualDubMod, a freeware program for editing a number of video formats including the VOB files on a DVD. It's great for screen caps because you can do a frame by frame advance through the movie. Then I just insert the images in a Word document and add the balloons using one of Word's built-in tools. (There are commercial programs designed specifically to create cartoon strips that are more flexible, but I have Word though my office, so why spend the money?) From there, I use whatever freeware image program I have open at the time to capture the individual panels and save them to JPGs. It's pretty quick once you get used to the steps involved.
I'll try to remember to add movie titles. Both this one and the previous Outtakes were taken from Prisoners of the Lost Universe starring BSG's Richard Hatch. Watch at your own risk.
