COMING ATTRACTIONS: ROLLER BOOGIE

Summer’s not quite over yet, so I think it’s about time we crawled out of the shadows, strapped on some classic quads, and headed down to the beach for a little relaxing Roller Boogie. In fact, after the grueling last two weeks I’ve had, that trailer just isn’t enough. I gotta have some more boogie! Here’s the entire opening credit sequence to this 1979 classic. Hell on wheels, baby!

While you have placated us once before with Ator, I hope that Roller Boogie is a portent of other roller-based fare.

Xanadu, perhaps . . .?

I'd love to, but I'd have to tread verrry carefully as My wife has been a huge Olivia fan since she was a little girl. How big? Well, how many other people do you know who've bought ONJ bootlegs?

That movie combines three things I've tried despeately to forget: disco, roller skating, and big hair.

Sir, you are disparaging the decade which brought us felt banners and the guitar mass. Outrage! Be warned, the South will boogie again!

Don't worry about your wife . . . there is so much else wrong with that movie BESIDES E.N.-J., you don't have to single her out.

That should be O.N.-J.

I'm a big ELO fan, and The Tubes aren't that bad either. Not to mention a big Don Bluth fan. And Gene Kelly. Xanadu is a guilty treasure, and I think its budget forbids it from being included in this blog.

However, I do have a non-related request. Just caught the second-half of "Motel Hell" on AMC late night just this past weekend. Talk about an odd b-movie. And to see a pre-Cheers John Ratzenberger as one of the victims... truly inspired work. And it came out around the same time...

The terrible truth is I've still got the Xanadu soundtrack both as a digital download and on vinyl with the big gatefold cover. Nothing but love for Xanadu over here.

As for sampling Farmer Vincent's Fritters, no problem. I'll dig up a copy of Motel Hell right away. It's been a long time since I've seen it, though, so I've got no idea what to do with it. Should be fun.
