COMING ATTRACTIONS: STARCRASH

Because there’s no way to run a blog like this and not eventually have to get around to this movie, it’s 1979’s Starcrash. Watch the trailer and feel the desire to see this movie consume you. Resistance is most definitely futile!

Wow, talk about taking me back. In 1981 we had cable for a few short months. I didn't recognize this one until I saw the Harryhausen robots with light swords battling the guy who knows the future.

Man! I watched this over and over wishing it was Star Wars.

I can't wait to hear how this movie reinforces the ideals of Catholicism.

This trailer made me 3 yr. old cry inconsolably.

wm, neither can I. I have no idea yet how to pull this one off.

Xena, sorry, it was Hasselhoff wasn't it? I should have put in a Hasselhoff warning.

Never did I think I'd see a trailer for something that would make the FX in Barbarella, Battle Beyond the Stars or the original Star Trek look sophisticated by comparison.

See, the trailer alone gets the comments flowing! It's mesmerizing. Movies like this are the reason this blog exists :)

Christopher Plummer.

More proof that even the mighty need a paycheck every now and then.

David Hasselhoff...from this movie, to a cameo in "Spongebob". I don't know if that makes a full circle or it means he never really got off the ground.

The blue ships looked like they were made out of Legos.

Gotta like the "Dallas"-esque soundtrack, too.

At first I thought Hasselhoff's character was the lead actor from Greatest American Hero from way back when.

Believe it or not, that's James Bond composer John Barry handling the music duties.

I repeat, even the mighty need a paycheck every now and then.

I like the end that says "Dolby Stereo". Gotta make sure those "pew pew" sounds a clear!

I love how the trailer begins with the words, "You are about to be hurled . . ." Oh yeah, there's plenty of hurling going on, all right :)

That looks like the greatest movie ever! Where can I find a copy???

This IS the greatest movie ever! And you're in luck because it just got released on DVD a couple of months back. There's even a 2 disc collectors edition which has the sequel (in name only)on it. If you're stuck in the boonies for awhile and can't get to the store (because you WILL want to own this), I'm pretty sure it's still up on YouTube.
