STILL ON THE CUTTING EDGE AFTER ALL THIS TIME

Given the bizarre nature of this blog, I'm not really one to dwell on subscriber numbers or the amount of daily hits I get. I happily accept my cult status and appreciate anyone who takes the time to stop by. But I do keep a stat counter so that on those occasions when a spike occurs in visitors, I can take note of who linked to me and give the appropriate thanks.

So... for all of the dozens and dozens of nice folks who dropped by from that castration fetish forum... Hi! I imagine you were as surprised to find yourself here as I was. Seriously though, I do hope you found something of value and, by all means, feel free to stick around and keep reading.

Origenists? Here?? Well, well, well... Perhaps after they've had a nice cuppa and a knees-up, we can discuss with them "Peri Archon," and the dynamics of interior conversion in "Flash Gordon."

Sounds good to me, although given this particular group of Origenists, they might prefer we try to find a discussion starter in "Ice Pirates" instead :)

I laughed very, very hard when I read this. Thank you so much, Eegahlnc.

Ooh, "Ice Pirates!" Even better. I admit I was on my first cup of coffee of the day at the time, and "FG" was the best I could come up with in slug mode. I think the furry-slimy space herpes is an excellent visualization of what early Platonists depict as the necessary relationship between ideon and physis in a morally negative substance: discuss.

Nice plays on words, EegahInc. Funny.

In order to discuss, Smiter, I must first look up the words you just used. :)

EegahInc, I've never seen Icepirates. At first, I thought you typed "Iceprivates" and I was very afraid.

You know, MissJean, I have the dread feeling that if you looked hard enough around the Internet, you actually could find a movie titled Iceprivates.

And don't feel bad, PaperSmyth, I'm a couple decades out of college and my philosophy has gotten a bit rusty. I have to do a quick refresher myself sometimes when the illustrious Archdeacon hits his stride. "Those that understood him smiled at one another and shook their heads; but, for mine own part, it was Greek to me." (obligatory pun intended)

Still, Smiter, if you're getting at the idea that the form of the space herpes is the inevitable physical manifestation of the lust between the princess and the pirate, I can buy that. Maybe you should do a guest review sometime.

Mmmm...a guest post from Smiter would doubtlessly involve at least one, and possibly several, Patristic limmericks. And I thought *space* was the final frontier.....

I kind of assumed the WHOLE review would be done in verse :)

Now that I think of it, I should leave the door open for any of you non-bloggers to drop in with a guest post. Certainly there's at least one horrible movie out there each of you are fixated on.

Eegah,

Yes, that's pretty much where I was pointing with that discussion topic. It has to be slimy, ugly, and disgusting, because its moral concomittant is. (Not to put too fine a point on it.)

As to the guest post, thanks! That's right neighborly of you. No deadlines, though:

A harried archdeacon named Smiter
whose humorous tastes ran to lighter,
invited to post
saluted his host,
then planned when to pull an all-nighter.

(Which, honestly, being rather more than a few years out of college, I'm much too old to do these days...)

Smiter, if you really want to do one, by all means, take your time. As the guy who promised a review of Voyage Of The Rock Aliens almost two months ago, I'll be casting no stones.
