I'm glad I wasn't drinking anything at the time, otherwise, I'd be cleaning up spit-take. Funny funny conclusion!
Wow, two laugh out loud moments in one day! You win the "LOL - Long Form" award! Today's Savage Chickens won the "LOL - Short Form" award.
And I'm adding you to my feedreader. The Curt Jester pointed me to your blog.
I have two volumes of condensed st thomas
'the summa of the summa' and one other the
title of which I forget and have made little use of
either or of the anton pegis edition of parts of the
whole...
this is an excellent opening out of St Thomas' thought
and would that the entire body of his work could
be presented in this way
thank you!

larryd & tim, thanks for the kind words. I thought for sure I might get rode out on a rail for this one, but it looks like I'll get a pass.
Or will I?

Your Grace, is that a compliment or a prescription of penance :) Seriously, though, thanks for dropping by. I am always humbled when a clergyman finds something of value in this armchair theologian's ramblings.
Of course it is a compliment
but the penance might be having
to deal with St Thomas in the
world to come...
I think of Flann O'Brien in
epigraph to the Dalkey Archive
saying 'to my guardian angel, when
I go home, remember I was just
joking.'

Not only did I enjoy that, but now I feel so smart because I understand Thomist philosophy now! Thanks!
Poor St Thomas. Oh well, he's the one who said, "It is requisite for the relaxation of the mind that we make use, from time to time, of playful deeds and jokes." I hope he remembers that if we run into each other down the line.
