Actually... as I was mentioning to someone on Facebook, there sort of already has been one. The old 80s movie The Beast Within features a teenager who turns into a half-man half-cicada monster on his 17th birthday. Maybe I should put it in line to review.
I really liked it too. I understand SyFy makes the movies it does because titles like Mega-Piranha get more attention, but Hunter Prey really should serve as their template for making an intelligent sci-fi movie on a low budget.

Off-topic: Finally got to see Hunter Prey. I thought it was excellent.
