DAILY CALL SHEET: FEBRUARY 13, 2019

Today marks our 12th blogiversary here at the B-Movie Catechism. An even dozen years ago, we kicked things off with a post entitled appropriately enough, What’s This All About? And while the look and content of the place has undergone some changes over the years, the spirit of that original post remains. We’re still here (I know, we’re as surprised as you are) hoping the few people who stumble across this thing will find something useful or thought-provoking in it, whether it be religious in nature or just an old movie they hadn't considered renting before. We’ll also accept the occasional smile. Our sincere thanks to everyone who has dropped by. Let’s keep going.

Return to Horror High (1987) Pre-Scream self-aware slasher/comedy is nearly incomprehensible, but still fun. Bonus points for a blood-loving Marcia Brady. TIL: As long as self-awareness avoids self-preoccupation or self-obsession, it is an important part of the inner life.

Still Voices - Big Man Japan (2007) "Your eyes behold strange sights, and your heart utters incoherent thing." Proverbs 23:33

Dad Rock Daily: Brian Eno - Another Green World (1975) "Mood piece" is often an insult, but not in this case. Somehow remains ethereal and otherworldly without becoming weird or inaccessible. Laudable Lyrics: Who would believe what a weak pair of hands can do.

Thanks! I guess it's nice to know some of us old timers are still hanging in there.
